Community Infrastructure – Capital Projects

Hays Travel Foundation – Grants are available between £2,000 & £15,000 with a typical grant being £3,500. Funding is open to organisations where Hays travel have a branch (Cleveleys). The foundation focuses on making a positive impact on young people’s lives through their funding initiatives. Tree and Hedge Planting Grant Scheme – Grants of up to 50% of project costs are available to a maximum of £1,000 per group The scheme is intended for the local voluntary and community sector to plant new trees and hedges in conservation areas within West Lancashire. Lancashire Environmental Fund - Green Grants - Grants of up to £3,000 are available for stand-alone projects with no other source of funding - Small grants are available to not-for-profit organisations, charities, voluntary and community groups for small scale community standalone projects that are accessible to the general public. The aim of this Fund is to support small scale community projects that improve the environment in some way whether it is the built, social or natural environment. Westminster Foundation – Small Grants - Grants of up to £10,000 are available through the Small Grants Programme. Grants are available for registered charities working in Chester, Westminster, and rural communities within Cheshire, Lancashire and Sutherland to create opportunities for young people (up to 25 years of age) and their families to have the resilience, skills and capacity to lead happy and healthy lives. The Fore - Northwest – Deadline 03 April 2025 – Grants up to £30,000 are available to enable small charities across the North West of England to grow, strengthen or become more efficient or resilient. The funding is intended to have a transformational impact on the organisations being supported by unlocking exponential growth, sustainability, efficiency or some other major step forward. Victoria Convalescent Trust – Grants are available to fund short breaks for those in need of convalescence, recuperative care or respite care living in England and Wales. The funding is intended to support individuals who are in need of a short break due to disability, poor health or their role as a carer. The grants are for those who are in need of a short break for the purpose of convalescence, recuperative care or respite care, do not have adequate resources to fund themselves or have been unable to obtain sufficient assistance from the statutory services. Historic Houses Foundation - Grants are available from £1,000 to £250,000 to organisations and individuals to support the preservation of heritage buildings and structures of architectural significance, particularly historic country houses, including their gardens, grounds, and works of art within them. Funding Reminders
New Round of Large Grants for Church Repairs – Deadline for stage 1 applications is 1 July 2025 (midnight) - National Churches Trust is accepting applications for the next round of its Large Grants programme.
The Trust offers grants of between £10,000 and £50,000 for urgent and essential structural repair projects (costed at more than £80,000) to buildings that were originally built as churches, or the installation of kitchen and toilets (costed at more than £30,000). Match funding of at least 50% is required. As the Trust has limited funding, most grants will be for less than £40,000. The average grant is around £15,000. BBC Children in Need Core or Project grants programme – Expressions of Interest will close on 15 April 2025 - Over the next five weeks, registered charities and not-for-profit organisations who work with disadvantaged children and young people of 18 years and under can express an interest for a maximum grant of £120,000 (or £40,000 over three years), though most grants made are for much less than this. Grants to Celebrate UK Armed Forces Day Events 2025 – Deadline 30 April 2025 - Local councils, voluntary and community organisations, schools, ex-service organisations and individuals can apply for grants of up to £10,000 for activities taking place across the UK. The amount of the grant depends on the size and format of the event.
The grant is match-funded. This means, a grant could cover up to half of the overall cost of the event. If the overall event cost is £7,000, the MoD could cover up to £3,500. For more information Event Funding – Armed Forces Day or contact armedforcesday-events@mod.gov.uk
