Councillor vacancy

Following the resignation of former Councillor Helen Forshaw, Wyre Council have been informed of the vacancy.
The notice of Casual Vacancy is detailed for the Town Council to publish.
In summary:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that one casual vacancy has arisen in the office of Town Councillor for the Township of Garstang.
In accordance with rule 8 of the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 1986 an election to fill the vacancy will be held within 60 days (the calculation of such period to exclude Saturdays, Sundays, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and bank holidays) if, within 14 days (calculated as aforesaid) of the date hereof, notice in writing of a request for such an election for each vacancy has been given to the Chief Executive of Wyre Borough Council at the Civic Centre, Breck Road, Poulton-le-Fylde FY6 7PU by ten local government electors for the Township.
If no such notice is given, the vacancy will be filled by co-option by the Town Council.
The person elected or co-opted to fill the vacancies will hold office until the fourth day after the ordinary election of parish councillors in May 2027.
